Okay, let’s talk about what you should do if your child is just too lazy to use the potty. You know he’s potty-trained, but he just doesn’t want to do it. In fact, I once worked with a 10-year old boy who refused to use the potty at home and at school. He was just too lazy. He wasn’t motivated to use the potty. We were able to get him to use the potty by telling him that he could have a new iPhone, and he could play on the iPhone every time he went pee on the potty. So, his parents knew that he was potty-trained, he was capable of being potty-trained, but he just didn’t want to because he didn’t have the motivation. So, it’s important to find what’s going to motivate your child to be successful with potty-training. It can be an iPhone or it can be stickers. It can be candy. Whatever your child would climb mountains to get, that’s what you want to use to get your child fully potty-trained.
