This is a pretty complicated question that comes with a number of mind-blowing answers.
First off, Earth will never be the same without its moon — perhaps, the biggest and most noticeable change would be in the length of Earth’s day.
What’s more, there will be no more eclipses and tides will be smaller.
It’s important to note that most moons in our solar system are small relative to the planets they orbit, as such, these planets won’t be affected if one just disappears.
However, we can’t say the same about the Earth’s moon which happens to be super large.
In essence, Earth will be incredibly different without its large nearby moon.
There will be no solar or lunar eclipses and calendars based on a system of months will be nowhere to be found.
For those who might not know, many calendars are inspired by the changing phases of the moon — these are typically known as lunar calendars.
It’s also good to point out that the moon and sun work together to cause tides, that’s the rise and fall of sea levels.
The thing is, Earth will still have tides without the moon, but they won’t be strong — they’ll be somewhat low and small.
As we mentioned earlier, the biggest change would be in the length of Earth’s day — it’ll become shorter without the moon.
Why? Well, it’s only because the earth will spin much faster than it normally would.
For the most part, our day would be only 6 to 8 hours, and that’s way shorter than our present-day 24 hours.
Besides the shorter days, the nights will be incredibly darker than we’re used to, and that alone can take a toll on our night vision.
All in all, our planet and its inhabitants will never be the same without the moon, and we really do hope it never vanishes away!
