TAWA MUTTON FRY | TAWA MUTTON MASALA | MUTTON FRY | तवा मटन
Tawa Mutton or Tawa Mutton Fry is an easy to make, lip smacking recipe wherein the meat is pre-boiled and then pan fried on a tawa with a mix of spicy gravy.
Tawa Mutton Recipe:
Ingredients to pressure cook the meat:
– Boneless Mutton pieces – 500 gms
– Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
– Red Chilli powder – 2 tsp.
– Green cardamom-3
– Cloves – 4
– Cinnamon sticks – 1/2 inch piece
– Salt to taste
– Oil – 1 tbsp
– Fried onions ( birista ) 1 medium onion
– Water- 200 ml
Ingredients for tawa frying:
– Oil – 3 tbsp
– Onions, sliced- 2 medium
– Ginger, chopped- 1 tsp
– Garlic, chopped – 1 tsp
– Green chillies, chopped- 2
– Coriander leaves, chopped – 1 bunch
– Coriander powder- 2 tsp
– Garam Masala powder- 1 tsp
Process :
In a pressure cooker, add boneless pieces of Mutton, Salt, Turmeric powder, Red Chilli Powder, Whole garam Masala, Fried onions, 200 ml of water and Oil.
Pressure cook till 4 whistles
– Separate the Mutton pieces & cook the gravy on high heat till it is thick. Reserve the gravy.
– In a Tawa or frying pan, add 3 tbsp oil & when hot, add the sliced onions.
– Once the onions are slight brown, add the chopped ginger, garlic & green chillies . Sauté for 2 minutes & add the boiled Mutton pieces.
– Sauté till mutton turns slight brown & add the coriander powder & garam masala powder.
– Turn it a few times & then add the gravy set aside from the pressure cooker.
– Tawa Fry till the mutton pieces are roasted well in the gravy.
– Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
