Do you want to stop hair fall and get rid of dandruff? Well watch this video because I’m going to tell you the one thing you need to know to stop hair fall and dandruff at home!
How does dandruff cause hair loss? It’s not because of the dandruff but because of one of the annoying side effects of dandruff, scratching. Not only does scratching your head make you look bad, it also leads to hair fall. Too much scratching damages the hair follicles and that’s what causes hair fall. So next time your hand is reaching your head to calm the itch. Just stop!
Home Remedies For Dandruff
Use Tea Tree Oil
Have you heard of tea tree oil? I’ll admit, till I discovered its dandruff healing properties I did not know it existed. But it’s actually quite a popular oil. It has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties which makes it great to fight dandruff.
Studies have found that tea tree oil can fight the fungus that causes seborrheic dermatitis which is the more serious form of dandruff.
Tea tree oil not only fights dandruff, but also reduces greasiness and itchiness which helps stop hair fall.
All of this sounds great right? Well here’s a handy tip for you. To increase its effectiveness I would recommend combining it with a few other oils like coconut or lemon oil.
Here’s what I do , instead of buying these oils on my own, I decided to buy Satthwas anti dandruff oil. In addition to tea tree oil they use lemon oil which is an age old ingredient that has been known to fight dandruff.
Here’s how I apply it.
I take a good quantity of my oil and apply it on my hair and scalp by gently massaging it with my fingertips.
I would recommend leaving it on overnight and then washing it off the next morning.
2. Get More Omega 3s
This is something that made a big difference for me personally. Omega-3 fatty acids are great for your body. They regulate heart functions and help boost your immune system. For your skin, they slow down aging and help regulate hydration and oil production.
If you don’t get enough Omega 3 fatty acids it can lead to dried out skin, dry hair, hair loss and dandruff.
So where can you get Omega 3 fatty acids? Fish like salmon and mackerel are great sources of Omega 3s. Doctors recommend eating two to three servings of fish a week to get our required dose of omega 3s.
However, if you don’t like fish or you’re a vegetarian I’ve got a solution for you. Flaxseeds, chia seeds and walnuts are also loaded with Omega 3s. I used to blend a handful of flax seeds in my breakfast smoothie. Quick, simple and delicious.
I know that there are also a number of supplements available, but I would recommend checking with your doctor before you try out any any new supplements.
3. Use Baking Soda
I love baking soda because it is so versatile! I also love it because it’s so common that almost everyone will have a bottle of baking soda in their kitchen. But did you know that aside from helping you make a great cake it can also stop hair fall and get rid of your dandruff?
4. Try Some Yogurt
Just like baking soda, I love this simple home remedy because everyone will have some in their fridge. Yogurt is loaded with antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. This makes it extremely effective at fighting fungal infections like dandruff. Here’s how I use it.
5. Use Onion Juice
Onion juice is a great way to treat hair loss and dandruff at home! It kills bacteria and removes the white flakes of dandruff on your scalp. It also strengthens hair roots and improves blood circulation.
