How to Slim the Abdomen by Following the ‘Apple Diet’

When it comes to quick weight loss, many dieters are turning towards the Apple Diet, which allows one to lose up to six pounds in a single week.

For those who are looking to take this diet on, you have to be willing to make a significant change to what you eat while on the diet, which can be difficult for some.

The reason being is that the major portion of your meals will be made up of, you guessed it, apples.

In this article, we will explore what you will need to eat on day one through five, how the diet works, and what you are allowed to eat while on this diet.

How and Why Does The Apple Diet Work?

Apples are extremely rich in vitamins and minerals, including fibre, and only have 80-100 calories per piece of fruit.

This makes it ideal as they not only prevent you from overeating on other foods as you will feel full longer, but they are filled with nutrition which is beneficial to the body.

Beyond this, apples are a natural laxative, helping the body reduce how much waste it is carrying.

The fibre that gets digested from the apple, binds to the fat molecules in your body, preventing them from being absorbed and stored.

This slims you down, as it keeps the fat off your waistline, thighs, and buttocks. Here is how the diet generally goes.

• Day One: on this day you will only be allowed to eat apples and drink fluids.
For breakfast, you will have two apples, for lunch one apple, and for dinner three apples.
This should amount to approximately 1.5kg of apples. You should pair your apple consumption with primarily water throughout the day.

• Day Two: on this day, you should have one apple for breakfast with either a glass of skim milk or soy/almond milk if you are gluten or lactose sensitive.
During lunch, you will consume an apple with a greens salad that consists of other vegetables like carrots, cucumber, and beets.
You can dress it up with olive oil, salt, pepper, and maybe some garnish like mint leaves. Continue to consume water throughout the day.

• Day Three: on this day, you should consume an apple for breakfast with some scrambled eggs and one piece of multi-grain toast or bread.
For lunch, have an apple with a salad that contains other vegetables like cucumber, tomato, onion, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
If you want an evening snack, consume a low-fat yogurt. For dinner, you can have an apple with lentil soup or an apple with a turkey, bacon, carrot and broccoli salad.
If you are a vegetarian, swap the eggs out for a glass of almond or soy milk.

• Day Four: on this day, you get to have a lot more fun! For breakfast, consume an apple with a kale smoothie.
For lunch, grab an apple and have grilled veggies or an apple and vegetable soup.
A couple of hours after lunch have a small bowl of fresh fruit. For an evening snack, consume a beverage like green or herbal tea.
For dinner, grab an apple and a vegetarian lettuce wrap or an apple and a fruit smoothie.
Doing this will ensure that you are flushing toxins out and getting the necessary nutrients you need.

• Day Five: on this day, grab an apple and a hard-boiled egg or an apple and a smoothie.
For lunch, grab an apple and grilled vegetables or an apple and a vegetable soup.

A couple of hours after lunch, have a piece of fresh fruit or a small handful of almonds or peanuts.
For an evening snack, have a cup of green tea and something like a digestive biscuit.

For dinner, grab an apple and baked fish with a vegetable side or an apple and a small bowl of chilli. Doing so helps revive your body after going through such a low-calorie week.

When you substitute in other fruits and vegetables, make sure you buy what is in season and always consume your protein (fish, chicken lean cuts of turkey) without the skin.
The benefits of following as closely to the above diet include lowering your cholesterol levels, helping you lose weight and preventing you from consuming excess sugar.
