How to: skpo & sk2po Decreases | Slip One, Knit One, Pass Slipped Stitch Over | Knitting Lesson

This knitting lesson teaches the skpo and sk2po decrease techniques, which allow you to reduce the number of stitches on your needles by 1 or 2 stitches respectively.

Skpo is the abbreviation of ‘Slip one, Knit one, Pass slip stitch over’. It is a single decrease.
You may sometimes see this same technique abbreviated to ‘skp’ or ‘sl1 k1 psso’ instead. It is left-leaning, and you may see it paired up with a k2tog (a right-leaning single decrease) on the same row.

Sk2po is the abbreviation of ‘Slip one, Knit 2 together, Pass slip stitch over’. It is a double decrease.
You may sometimes see this same technique abbreviated to ‘sk2p’ or ‘sl1 k2tog psso’ instead. It is left-leaning, and you may see it paired up with a k3tog (a right-leaning double decrease) on the same row.

Although not shown on this video, an Sk3po is also possible, where you would slip a stitch, knit 3 stitches together and then pass the slipped stitch over (sl1 k3tog psso).

Thanks for watching!
