How to Sew: Whip Stitch & Blind Hem Stitch by Hand | Seams and Hems | Sewing Tutorial for Beginners

In this comprehensive tutorial, I try and cover everything beginners need to know about the whip stitch and how to use it to sew a seam or a hem.

Usually, whip stitches are hand sewn on the outside of an item such as a soft toy or pillow. They can also be used to mend rips in clothing, help prevent a raw edge from unravelling, and to sew hems.

Later in the video I demonstrate the blind hem stitch too, alongside the whip stitch, to compare the 2 techniques.

I hope that you find this video helpful 🙂

Thanks for watching!
