Hello, I’m Ellen Goldberg and I welcome you to this tarot moment with the School of Oracles. In this segment, we’re going to look at the sun card and what a beautiful card it is. This is the fifth stage of spiritual unfoldment and it is the fool as the wisdom child; naked, devesting itself of all worldly things, on it’s way back to spirit. This card is the sunny world of direct experience and the last card, the moon, and we were asleep and here comes an awakening. This stage, awakening, is a very wonderful time. Is a very wonderful time. It’s a time when you become, or starting to become, an addict. In alchemy, the great work is often referred to as the path of the sun. The Hebrew letter associated with the sun card is resh, which means face, or continence, and you can see that continence in the image of the sun itself, similar to the way they draw the sun in all the old alchemy books. It’s to intermede that all of these things, the sun, the moon, are alive beings, not just objects in the sky, but filled with intelligence and life.
The horse that the child rides [inaudible] represents solar energy and that red flag is the vibration of the Mars voice. The alchemical marriage of the sun and moon has taken place as shown by the alternating rays emanating from the sun. The masculine and feminine, radiation and vibration. The sun flowers are also sacred to the sun. The face on the sun shows that it is an alive being, the sun is a symbol of the divine and in the ancient world the word helios in Greek meant both sun and god. When you receive this card, know that a tremendous regeneration is taking place. There is a liveness, healing, and much healing can take place for you. There is something child-like that we would love to have within us in the best way.
On the lower polarity, this card is a [inaudible] card. On the higher polarity, sometimes it announces the birth of a child because it’s fruitful and there is, of course, a child on the card. On the lower polarity, it’s sterility, can even be death, if it is found in conjunction with the death card, and other cards of a similar nature being reversed. But, mostly it would have to do with egocentricity. Instead of being child-like, it would be an infantile willfulness and closed to the brightness and beauty of life. On behalf of myself and the School of Oracles, I thank you for being with me. Bye for now.
