Hi, Lacy here, and I’m going to show you how to customize using the keyboard on your iPad. So when you’re typing, you’ll see at the bottom right hand side of the keyboard, there’s a little button that looks like a little picture of a keyboard. When you tap it, the keyboard goes down, when you tap again, where you’re typing, it’ll pop back up.

However, if you press and hold on that button, you’ll see two options.  You’ll see undock and split. When you choose undock, it will pull up the keyboard to the middle of the screen, so that way if you’re trying to see something at the bottom of the screen while you’re typing, you’re still able to do that. You can press and hold again, and it will dock it. You can also split the keyboard. So you press and hold, and then go to split, it will separate the keyboard so you can type more easily with your hands on the side. Press and hold, you can dock and merge. Another way to split it, is to take your thumbs to the middle of the keyboard and to pull apart. When you do this, the keyboard stays a little bit lower than when you use the button to get there. So you can type more easily this way and then when you’re done, you can push it back together with your thumbs. So that’s it, that’s how you can use your keyboard in different ways on your iPad.
