ney (ghee) idiyappam recipe is a quick upma with left over idiyappams/string hoppers. Tasty and healthy gluten free indian recipes for weight loss with less oil, lunch or dinner ideas.
This recipe can be called as a “upma” usually made with leftover idiyappams also known as string hoppers. But I used brown rice to make this ie white rice which has the bran. I prefer not to use refined white rice on a daily basis for staple foods like dosa, appam, puttu, rice roti etc. I am not saying I do not use white rice at all, I do use basmati rice once in a while but rice with bran (single polished brown rice) is my preferred rice as a staple food for my family and myself.
My aim with sharing such recipes is to teach you to lead a healthier lifestyle with seasonal grains and vegetables easily available in India. So together, lets build a community and support each other to eat healthy through this channel.
