This easy pattern is great for beginners because it only requires the basic knit stitches and purl stitches to complete.
The resulting texture is reversible and is one of my favourite patterns in terms of appearance.
The pattern is a 4-row repeat, as follows:
(First, cast on an uneven number of stitches.)
Rows 1 and 4: knit 1 *purl 1, knit 1;
Repeat from * to the end of the row.
Rows 2 and 3: purl 1 *knit 1, purl 1
Repeat from * to the end of the row.
