How To Get Rid of Insect & Mosquito Bites -Reduce The Itching Of Insect Bites, Bug Bites & Swelling
Creepies and crawlies are there all around us, and we never know when they might bite or sting. Most of the time, bites and stings will go away on their own, but you can follow these simple measures to reduce the redness, itching, the pain that occurs, and also prevent infection.
Take a glass of normal water.
Add 1 tsp of baking soda.
Stir well till it dissolves.
Soak a clean cloth in this, and place over the bite.
Leave this on for 15-20 minutes.
Take 1-2 cloves of garlic.
Crush with a pestle.
Smear this over the bite.
Cut a slice of an onion, and either place it over the bite for about 10 minutes, or just rub it on the bite.
Take a handful of basil or tulsi leaves.
Add some water, and grind it to a paste.
Add 2 tsp of turmeric or haldi powder to this paste.
Apply this over the area of the bite.
If you have been stung by a bee, the first thing to do is remover the stinger. Carefully push it out of the skin with your fingernail, but do not try using a tweezer, as the venom might enter the body .
Immediately soak the bite site in apple cider vinegar for 3-4 minutes.
Take a small ball of cotton, dip in vinegar, and place this over the sting site for an hour.
Either use an icepack or a wet cloth for 15 minutes every hour for the next 5-6 hours, keeping the area elevated.
If you have to be in an insect infested place, rub some mustard oil to protect yourself from being bitten.
