Unwanted facial hair can be very embarrassing, especially for women. This condition is called hirsutism, and though for the most part it is quite harmless, it can cause a lot of mental distress. However, the underlying cause for hirsutism can also be a hormonal condition known as PSOD.
Removing hair can be quite challenging, especially on the face. Try these kitchen remedies to combat this condition.
In a bowl, put ¼ cup of water.
Mix in 2 tlbsp of sugar and 2 tsp of lime juice.
Apply this to the face, working in the direction of hair growth, avoiding the sensitive areas around the eyes.
After 15-20 minutes, gently scrub off.
Do this weekly for best results.
Mix ¼ cup of well-beaten curd with about 2 tsp of gram flour, or besan, adjusting the quantities as required, to form a thick paste.
Add in ¼ tsp of turmeric, or haldi.
Mix well and apply on face, and leave till it is dry.
Gently scrub off with water.
Cosmetic procedures for hair removal are available, but try these home remedies before you make that choice.
Every woman’s dream – clean and glowing skin. Some are blessed with it, but don’t lose heart, a little effort on your part can go a long way to achieving healthy and clear skin.
Though we wash the face with soap and water every day, this is not enough. While bathing, follow this simple routine to thoroughly cleanse the face.
Take a tsp of besan, or gram flour, which is a natural exfoliant and helps remove dead cells.
Add a tsp of dry milk powder, which nourishes the skin.
Now add enough water to make a thin paste.
Wash your face with warm water, and gently scrub this over it.
After bathing, wash this off.
If you have oily skin, cleanse your face nightly with plain cold milk using a small cotton ball. If your skin is excessively oily, just squeeze a drop or two of lemon juice on the cotton ball, then dip in the milk and clean.
You could try this remedy also.
In a small bowl, take 1 tsp of almond oil, and mix in one tsp of honey.
Apply this on the face, and leave it on for about 10-15 minutes.
Wash off with warm water.
When you step out, you are exposed to a lot of environmental pollutants. So, besides cleansing, your skin needs to be nourished as well.
Make a paste of sandalwood.
In 2 tsp of this paste, add ¼ tsp of haldi, or turmeric powder.
Now add enough water, or rose water, to make a semi thick paste.
Apply this over the face, and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
Wash off with plain water.
These remedies can definitely help with your skin, but remember, to get that radiant look, you need a healthy diet and your beauty sleep.
So eat well, sleep well, and watch your skin glow.
