Directions on making laundry soap:

Grate Castille soap with box grater or food processor (a food processor makes this really quick and easy). Mix all ingredients together in storage container of your choice. Make sure essential oils (if using) are thoroughly mixed into the powder.

I prefer to make a huge batch at a time (5 gallon bucket). For this size bucket I use 3 BOXES of washing soda, 3 BOXES of Borax, and a 13.5 lb bag of baking soda and 6 bars grated castille soap. Doing 1-2 loads of laundry per day, this last about 6 months (give or take).

I use 1/4 cups for small loads and 1/2 cup for larger lands of laundry.
I also add 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar as a fabric softener since I don’t like to use liquid fabric softeners. When I put wet clothes into the dryer, I throw in 2-3 wool dryer balls with a couple drops of essential oils on each-just to make the laundry smell like I used a regular dryer sheet. Natural without all the chemicals!
