Natural Home Remedies For Wet Cough – Fast Relief For Chest Congestion & Bronchitis
A wet cough is the body’s way of clearing any expectorate present in the airways and throat, which could be a result of weather change or a cold. However, if a cough persists for a long time, visit a doctor to rule out any serious condition like TB, chest or lung infection.
At the onset of a wet cough, try some simple home remedies.
In a cup of water, put 6-8 peppercorns.
Add ¼ tsp of cumin and about 1 tsp of grated jaggery.
Boil the mixture until it becomes a concentrated decoction.
Cool and drink this to help expel the phlegm blocking the airways.
Take about a 1” piece of fresh ginger.
Wash and grate it, and extract the juice.
In 2 tsp of the ginger juice, add 2-1/2 tsp of honey.
Warm this mixture slightly.
Have this 3-4 times a day.
Take a medium onion, preferably white.
Grate it and extract the juice.
Add 1 tlbsp of honey and mix well.
Leave it for about 6 hours.
Have this about 2-3 times daily.
Till the cough persists, have a warm cup of milk with a pinch of turmeric, or haldi, before bedtime to soothe the throat.
Ensure you drink at least 2 litres of water a day to stay hydrated.
Follow these simple tips to get rid of your cough, and stay healthy.
