1/2 cup plain urad dal
(note you can use 3/4 cup plain urad dal instead)
1/2 tbsp methi seeds
2 tbsp cooked rice or poha
1 – 1 1/2 cups water or as needed to make thick batter
3/4 tsp pink himalayan salt

Soak the grains

keep to ferment overnight
