Tiny House Tour | Log home Build Update | MORTGAGE FREE LIVING | DEBT FREE WHILE HOME BUILDING
Tiny house tour! Join me as I take you on a tour of our tiny house as well as show you an update for our log home build. Our 750 square foot house for a family of four may not be considered “tiny” for many, but we downsized from 4,000 square feet. This was a big adjustment for us. We have lived in our tiny house for a little over 2 years while we began planning the build of our new log home. I’ll take you on a tour of our home as well as a walk around our 3 and a half acre piece of property nestled on the banks of the river. We have really enjoyed our simple life here in our home but are really excited to begin this new chapter. Our new home will once again be 4,000 + square feet, have 3 master suites, 1 guest bedroom, a loft room, 5 bathrooms, my sewing/craft room and a large kitchen. The best part though? It’s a log home! I grew up in a log home and theres something just so comforting about being in one. We can’t wait to take you all on this building journey with us. We plan to continue with the simple lifestyle in our new home-we’ll just be doing it in more space. I can’t wait to unload our storage containers, sort and put things away and getting rid of all the un-necessary items we really don’t need. I’m really excited to not have to fight for the bathroom, be able to have more than one person at a time in our kitchen, be able to fully open my oven door, and not have to store all my bulk food items, baking essentials, and appliances in the closet with my clothes. I can’t wait to have a sewing room again as sewing really is such a passion of mine. I love to share my love of sewing with others and not having enough space to do has been really tough. But soon enough we will once again have some space. This experience has been really humbling for us, and really has opened our eyes to what we “need” for living life more abundantly and freely. The past two years we have been mortgage free and it’s been so freeing. As we prepare for the demolition of our old home, our plan is to open up the house to anyone looking for appliances, fixtures, wood, etc. We will allow people to come in and take what they want so we avoid putting things into the landfill unnecessarily. We also have plans to contact our local home salvage yard. They will come free of charge and take whatever items they feel they can salvage and re-sell.
So for everyone asking to see how and where we’ve been living for the past 2 years, here you go!
Our plans for the next 2 years include building and finishing our log home, getting our fenced garden together, demolition of our current home and settling into our home. We can’t wait to entertain, and have our first Christmas here in our new home. We are excited for new traditions and to see what the future holds for us as family.
If you have any questions about our house or our log home build, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below. Any tips, tricks or advice for us as we power through these next 10+ months in our tiny home?
