Kakvi or liquid jaggery is obtained by boiling sugar cane juice, it is one of the healthiest alternative to sugar. Having kakvi in the summers helps to keep your body cool, prevents constipation etc. It also has phosphorous, iron, calcium which makes it a wonderful ingredient to have in food. It contains many minerals not found in ordinary sugar and is considered beneficial to health by the traditional Ayurvedic medical system. Kakvi has a taste similar to honey.
You can also get kakvi locally.
NOTE: I did not strain the mango pulp as I do not want to throw away the natural fibre of the mango. If you feel you need to strain it, feel free to do so.
